POINT BLANK DISTRIBUTING is Hiring a Warehouse Manager for Beverage Distributor Near Portland, OR

Point Blank Distributing is a locally owned wholesale distributor of craft beer, cider and non-alcoholic products. We represent some of the most distinguished breweries in the industry. Our priority is service with an emphasis on building relationships with our customers and breweries. We are seeking a Warehouse Manager who will oversee our warehouse operations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with those of the Company's Core Value at all times
  • Supervises and coordinates the most efficient unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of quality
  • Ensure the required inbound/outbound driver paperwork is properly handled, shipments are accurate, and free of damage
  • Responsible for the cross communication between shifts
  • Work with inventory department, noting any discrepancies
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment, ensuring compliance with OSHA
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area and assists in maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse
  • Ensure associates follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Supervise and train staff on safety procedures (SIM training and first aid)
  • Thoroughly investigate and report all safety accidents and violations in a timely manner
  • Conduct operations in accordance with OSHA and MSDS standards
  • Ensure proper food safety practices are maintained for USDA/ODA
  • Direct the operations of the assigned work team to achieve prescribed objectives
  • Follow all policies and procedures
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads
  • Review and correct time reports on a regular basis (2-4 times per payroll)
  • Collaborate with coworkers and managers to solve work related problems
  • Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals
  • Conduct staff meetings to relay general information and to address specific topics, such as safety, as needed
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or disciplinary measures
  • Administer warnings, write ups, terminations and documentation of incidents and accidents involving warehouse staff
  • Participate in monthly safety committee meetings and quarterly safety walk through inspections
  • Participate in accident committee panel meetings when accidents occur
  • Assess training needs of staff and arrange for or provide appropriate instruction
  • Resolve personnel problems, complaints, or formal grievances when possible, or refer them to higher-level supervisors for resolution
  • Perform various other technical duties, such as reports or special projects, as needed/assigned
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management or ownership

Requirements:

  • Be 21 or over
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required (Associates degree preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to convey a sense of urgency and project a positive, proactive desire to support a broad range of initiatives
  • Strong PC skills with an understanding of Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Ability to coach and counsel others and facilitate training needs
  • Be friendly and professional when working with coworkers, vendors and customers

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Forklift and pallet jack certification (preferred/ability to be certified required)
  • Have and maintain a valid driver license with acceptable MVR
  • Ability to obtain airport badge certification

Experience:

  • Required 3 years of managerial experience within a warehouse or distribution center
  • Preferred 3 - 5 years prior experience in safety and training
  • Previous use of VIP operating system would be helpful

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use power/manual pallet jack, hand truck and forklift
  • Lift/carry/push/pull 35 lbs. repetitively and up to 160 lbs.
  • Bend/stoop/crouch/squat/use arms/wrists/hands/grasp
  • Climb stairs/ladder as needed
  • Work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 am - 3 pm
