Tool Grind Production Manager Job Description : The Tool Grind Production Manager is responsible for the output of Polamer’s CNC cutter grind cell.
Polamer Precision manufactures and re-grinds a wide range of carbide milling tools to meet production needs. The Tool Grind Production Manager queries shop production schedules as well as special requests for development and process improvements and balances all inputs to ensure tools are produced on time supporting machining operations.
The Tool Grind Production manager handles all planning aspects of staffing and run schedules for (6) CNC cutter grinders and is accountable for reporting utilization performance.
Ideal candidates will come from a technical background and have familiarity with cutting tool design, drafting, programming, and running CNC cutter grinders.
The Tool Grind Production Manager is responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of carbide stock to support production requirements as well as coordinating necessary maintenance and ordering of supplies for the Cutter Grinding department at Polamer Precision.
Strong candidates will be business minded with a desire to help the department grow and vertically integrate processes associated with manufacturing cutting tools.
Experience : Minimum 5-10 years programming and running CNC cutter grinders Prior Management experience highly desired Familiarity with engineering drawings and experience with a CAD system for 2D drafting of tools Strongly desired (Solidworks, NX, AutoCad etc.
Prior experience using ERP systems desired. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint is required. Educational Requirements : High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
2 year degree or certificate related to tool grinding desired. College degree related to technical Management or an Engineering / Math related field desired.
Compensation : Full time position.
