Job Summary
At Chicago Polaris, Villa Park we are not just selling off road powersport vehicles - we are selling dreams, freedom, and the thrill of the outdoors. As a Polaris General Sales Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to build and drive the Polaris brand and business in the Chicagoland area, helping customers find the perfect fit and making their powersport dreams come true.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Sales Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in off road sales management (preferably with Polaris), a deep understanding of the off-road industry, and the ability to achieve and exceed targeted sales goals. Responsibilities include developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, building and managing a sales team, and fostering strong customer relationships. 1. Sales Department Operations

  • Oversee and manage all operations of new and pre-owned vehicles.
  • Ensure the sales department contributes acceptable levels of gross and net profit.
  • Ensure sales personnel are well trained, motivated, and available when needed.
  • Ensure the inventory of new and used vehicles is a the proper levels and mix to drive the business.

2. Customer Service

  • Provide prompt, dependable, high-quality, vehicle sales to customers by using current proactive feature benefit sales techniques.
  • Greet customers immediately, in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Ensure customers are properly qualified for needs, wants, and ability to buy.
  • Ensure cross-sales of P&A, financing, general merchandise, warranties, insurance products, and services.
  • Develop and ensure the use of a common and consistent quotation methodology for vehicle sales, trade-ins, and purchases.

3. Management

  • Maintain sales follow-up programs.
  • Maintain budgeted revenue and expense objectives.
  • Maintain efficiency reports on sales associates.
  • Provide reports to Senior Management as requested.
  • Attend training sessions to keep current with sales department issues.

4. Supervisory

  • Establish departmental work schedule, balancing the workload of all employees.
  • Train Sales Associates to use consistent and current sales methodologies.
  • Manage employee performance (evaluate and counsel) and conduct performance reviews in a timely manner.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and terminating employees according to company policy and procedure.

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to get along with a broad customer base.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in sales of Polaris off road vehicles and other products sold by the dealership, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn them.
  • Proactive and self-controlled work ethic; Self-started.
  • Good organizational and excellent time management skills.
  • Exceptional people skills & rapport building
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience with Inventory management required
  • Able to achieve sales quotas.
  • Excellent closing skills.
