Job Purpose/Summary:

The Financial Analyst will work closely with the FP&A Manager, North American Controller, as well as members of the Commercial, Operations, and Supply Chain leadership teams to provide streamlined, automated, and valuable information to assist with critical business decision-making. This will include the creation of PowerBI Dashboards and the ability to speak to anomalies and discrepancies in results that require extra attention with the ultimate end goal of driving commercial and operational excellence. A successful Financial Analyst will be a high-energy person with a desire to learn and grow (humble, hungry, people smart) as well as someone who enjoys diving into data but also enjoys seeing the “bigger picture”. This person must be someone who loves working with data and flexing their creative muscles as it relates to data visualization while also being someone who is not afraid to communicate and talk to the information with cross-functional teams in a way that drives continuous improvement. Lastly, and most importantly, the Financial Analyst will have a passion for the purpose and mission of the company as it relates to upholding the core values of Integrity, Excellence, Humility and Caring.

Success Profile:

  • Support the FP&A Manager with the annual budget process, monthly actual results reporting, and quarterly forecasting processes, including Revenue, Margins, SG&A, and Cash Flow, in an international business.
  • Support the FP&A Manager with gathering input across the organization to create and disseminate PowerBI dashboards for top-tier business insights to support in leadership decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Production Systems and Inventory control to update, improve, and monitor BOMs and Routings as well as monitor and govern the current make vs buy procedures as they relate to vendors as well as intercompany requisitions.
  • Analyze Product and Part cost variances to system estimates and budget and identify trends versus one-offs as well as devising new and creative ways to cost in different areas of the business.
  • Attend production meetings to report and drive key operational metrics including, but not limited to: Utilization, Efficiency, Throughput, Shop Rates, Capacity, and Inventory Management.
  • Support the FP&A manager in maintaining the quality of our internal scorecards/KPIs, Including the 5 Year Vision Goals, MD&As, Quarterly Board Reports, etc.
  • Provide timely product cost estimates for engineering and operations as requested. Assists the FP&A manager with the preparation of annual overhead rates by department and assists with the allocation of support costs to production departments.
  • Reviews product margins regularly and provides timely insight into notable changes as they relate to pricing and costs.
  • Assists with providing weekly business updates to the value stream managers as it relates to departmental and product line performance.
  • Reviews and prepares the weekly Cash balance report. Collaborates with the N.A. Controller for 13-week cash forecasting report. Prepares monthly cash flow statement and reports on cash flow and working capital variances to budget.
  • Assists with identifying business risks and helps to develop mitigation plans. Maintains a forecast risk and opportunity analysis for the CFO and President.
  • Ad hoc projects/analysis to support decision making.
  • Other related duties as required.

Skills/Certifications

  • Intermediate to advanced SQL and PowerBI skills preferred.
  • 1-3 years of cost and manufacturing accounting experience preferred. Additional training will be provided as part of the normal course for this role.
  • Experience with forecasting/budgeting including use of an EPM tool and consolidation software; experience with Host/Planful preferred. Additional training will be provided as part of the normal course for this role.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills.
  • Well versed in US GAAP and IFRS and able to apply this knowledge.
  • Experience with an integrated ERP a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Accounting systems and principles.
  • Process Improvement and Automation mindset.
  • Effective verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Energetic and positive team player capable of working well with cross functional teams.

Minimum Education and Work Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • MBA/Master’s degree a plus but not required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing organization
