Job Purpose/Summary:
As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations within our manufacturing campus. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
· Develop and implement long-term maintenance strategies aligned with the company's objectives and production goals.
· Identify opportunities to optimize maintenance processes, improve equipment reliability, and reduce downtime.
· Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for injection molding machines, welding robotics, auxiliary equipment, and other key resources.
· Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize production downtime and optimize equipment availability.
· Collaborate with senior management to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish benchmarks for maintenance performance.
· Utilize maintenance management software (Fiix) to schedule work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage spare parts inventory.
2. Equipment Troubleshooting and Repair:
· Lead a team of maintenance technicians to diagnose and resolve equipment failures promptly; serve as on-site expert and escalation contact.
· Provide technical guidance and support to troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
· Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and implement improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
3. Safety and Compliance:
· Lead with an intense and passionate focus on a ZERO incident safety culture; be a safety champion in everything you do
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
· Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions; involvement with JSA’s, Safety Start Up, and A3 Problem Solving
· Provide training to maintenance staff on safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
4. Budget Management:
· Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, including labor costs, equipment repairs, and spare parts procurement.
· Identify cost-saving opportunities through efficient maintenance practices and equipment optimization.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
· Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance technicians to build a skilled and motivated team.
· Provide leadership and direction to the maintenance team; ensure a healthy work culture where team members can voice concerns and jointly overcome those.
· Foster a culture of continuous learning and development to enhance technical skills and promote career growth.
· Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to ensure high standards of performance and accountability.
· Develop training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of maintenance personnel.
6. Asset Management:
· Oversee the obsolescence of equipment which is beyond its productive operational life; partner with others to dispose of, sell, or repurpose this equipment.
· Develop asset management strategies to maximize the lifecycle value of equipment and minimize total cost of ownership.
· Implement predictive maintenance techniques, such as condition monitoring and predictive analytics, to identify and address potential failures proactively.
Necessary Abilities/Skills/Certifications
· Strong technical knowledge of injection molding machines, hydraulic systems, electrical controls, and mechanical components
· Moderate skills with MS Office, Outlook
· Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
· Capable of relaying critical updates to senior management in a clear & concise manner
· Ability to convert complex ideas into crisp financial project proposals
Minimum Education and Work Experience Required:
· Minimum of (5) years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in an injection molding manufacturing environment.
· Bachelor’s Degree not required but desired; any formal technical education is a plus.
