Job Summary
The Ultrasound Sonographer produces quality ultrasound images, instructs patients with preparation required, performs in addition all the functions and tasks of a sonographer during sonographic examinations, maintains quality control and participates in quality assurance programs for Ultrasound.
Essential Functions
• Moves throughout the facility, appropriately assists in emergency drills and performs the physical requirements needed to deliver services as assigned.
• Performs ultrasounds under the direction of a physician and provides quality images.
• Works cooperatively with unit staff, physicians and ancillary departments.
• Performs all tasks and duties of this position according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
• Demonstrates commitment to Pomerene Hospital’s Values.
• Delivers service that builds customer satisfaction.
• Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient. Includes PSP / family member in explanations/discussions of testing, procedures and discharge instructions when applicable.
Education
High School Diploma/GED - Required
Completion of Accredited Program-Required
Experience
1-3 years of experience in Healthcare/Medical - Radiology (Imaging and Therapy) Preferred
Certification & Licensures
ARDMS certification required
Staring pay: $29.00 per hour
