Ponca City Development Authority is Hiring a Buyer Manufacturing Near Ponca, OK
- Responsible for procurement system data input and integrity. Completes Required weekly cycle counts. Investigates all inventory variances and eliminates root causes.
- Monitors cost, schedule and quality and negotiates highest quality and best value
- Resolves and reports discrepancies
- Assists in maintaining supplier records and project trackers
- Processes requisitions for supplies
- Processes internal customer requests
- Issues vendor purchase orders as directed
- Processes order confirmation and deferments as required
- Maintains close relationship with suppliers, takes a proactive approach in interfacing with them to resolve issues and reduce costs
- Enthusiastic team player who is self-motivated and energetic
- Monitoring and controlling inventory integrity.
- Maintain product identification and location program.
- Research inventory discrepancies and ability to reconcile them.
- Responsible for completing physical inventories/cycle, counts/random or receipt audits/reconciliations.
- Assist in maintaining up to date SDS sheets from manufacturers for Safety Department
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree or higher preferred)
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
- ERP/MRP experience, but not required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic and team player a must
- Proven attention to detail skills
- Strong computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft products
- Familiarity with standard manufacturing/inventory concepts and practices
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced team environment; organized and a team player but can excel independently
- Show initiative and make suggestions for process improvement.Physical Demands
- 30% of time walking the floor up to six hours per day one or two days per week.
- Regularly requires standing, squatting, stooping, bending, and reaching throughout the day.
- Requires extraordinary hand-eye coordination and ability to work in a fast-paced area.
- Maneuvering around tight spaces.
- Occasionally requires some twisting, and lifting to 20 to 30 lbs.
