Position Overview:

Porchlight, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team. This role is crucial for managing and processing income from various sources, including rent, government and community grants, donations, and retail sales. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in accounting software and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Income Processing: Accurately record and process income transactions from multiple sources, including rent payments, grants, donations, and retail sales.
  • Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of accounts receivable to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Reporting: Generate and maintain financial reports related to accounts receivable. Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Software Utilization: Utilize accounting software (Yardi, Donor Perfect, Sage Intacct) to manage and track financial transactions. Ensure data integrity and troubleshoot any software issues.
  • Account Management: Ensure accurate processing of transactions and maintain up-to-date records. Address and resolve any payment or account discrepancies promptly and effectively, supporting internal team members as needed.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and organizational policies. Assist with audits and financial reviews as required.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to support overall financial operations and ensure smooth workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar accounting role. Experience in a nonprofit environment is a plus.
  • Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, with experience in Yardi, Donor Perfect, and Sage Intacct considered a strong advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of accounting principles and practices. Familiarity with financial reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Attributes: Professional demeanor with strong communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Pay: $24.50 per hour
