Job description

Warehouse Inventory Control Specialist

Porter Designs is a family-owned, globally sourced lifestyle furniture supplier, designing and sourcing unique and affordable furniture for today’s eclectic home. The line has grown to 1000 products featuring a full range of upholstery, motion, accent chairs, occasional, dining and bedroom furniture.

We are on a quest for that Warehouse Inventory Control Specialist that can keep us in-check while working alongside an awesome group of people!

This team member will be responsible for ensuring accuracy of inventory through cycle count process. The position involves sorting, organizing, and moving furniture inventory throughout our main 75,000 SQ FT warehouse. Lifting and moving of heavy items is required.

A typical day will include any of the following:

Inventory Control:

· Maintain physical inventory accuracy, for multiple inventory locations

· Perform cycle counts

· Partner with the Warehouse Manager to change warehouse processes as needed to improve inventory accuracy

· Manage annual physical inventory

Quality Control:

· Perform quality inspections on new items for both structural standards and aesthetics

· Communicate construction changes to manufacturing partners under the guidance of Product Development Manager

You bring to the table:

· Ability to move up to 100lbs of furniture safely with the assistance of other people or equipment

· Able to use equipment (order picker) to be at heights up to 25 feet

· Familiarity with digital asset management systems (a plus but not necessary)

· Capable of managing multiple projects and timelines

· Ability to work in a busy warehouse environment

· Physically able to move up to 100lbs of furniture safely with the assistance of other people or equipment

· Experience working with receiving or inventory control

· Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team with strong attention to detail

· Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint)

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Must like people, laugh at our dumb jokes and generally have a good time while working
