Porter Freight Funding is Hiring a Business Development Representative Near Birmingham, AL

Working as a Business Development Representative, you’ll be responsible for generating sales

over the phone by advising potential clients on our products and/or services while showcasing

how we can serve their needs. A Business Development Representative must be passionate

about what our company has to offer and truly believe in our vision and products. This

excitement must come through on every call to guarantee that customers enjoy speaking to

you and want to learn more about the company and brand.

For the Business Development Representative position, excellent communication skills are a

must. As you’ll be working with potential clients and existing customers, strong interpersonal

skills such as listening and written communications are key attributes for this position. We are

searching for candidates that have the ability to adapt to a changing marketplace and can

handle leads that are provided or make cold calls to generate their own leads sources based on

market conditions. Developing relationships within the industry with clients and potential lead

sources are key aspects of this position.

Responsibilities:

• Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective

customers

• Perform cost--benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs

• Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships

• Create leads through cold calling prospective clients

• Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction

• Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule

• Continue education of selling best practices

• Continuously improve through feedback

Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of MS Office

• Highly motivated and target driven

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills

• Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs

• Relationship management skills and openness to feedback

• Desire to learn selling techniques which include negotiation skills, interviewing and

presentation skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales is a PLUS

Familiarity with CRM systems such as SalesForce
