Portland Community College’s Academic and Career Pathways Division seeks an Administrative Assistant (AA) for the Academic Foundations, Essentials and Gateways (AFEG) Pathway. Administrative competence is important, but more important is an enthusiasm and interest for providing an exceptional service experience to PCC students, partners and internal stakeholders.
The Academic Foundations, Essentials and Gateways Pathway welcomes students from diverse backgrounds and abilities to study and develop their knowledge and skills in many lower division transfer programs (psychology, health, sociology, etc.).as well as certain career and technical education programs (early childhood education, human services, addictions counseling.
The Administrative Assistant works directly with the AFEG Pathway Dean and team to enhance the student learning experience. The Assistant provides a broad range of support functions requiring judgment and discretion, and liaises with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to perform an array of administrative duties including purchasing, reporting and project management. The Administrative Assistant works well both independently and as part of a team, responding to a variety of situations and providing direction and/or assistance in resolving issues that may be sensitive and confidential. Remote work and extensive use of technological resources is critical.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
Training and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED®.
Five years of responsible administrative support experience (college or business school training may be substituted for up to two years of the experience requirement).
Other combinations of experience, education and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.

The ASR contains current security and safety-related policy disclosure statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information and resources, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains crime statistics for Clery Act crimes which occurred on PCC properties for the last three calendar years. Paper copies of the ASR are available upon request at all Department of Public Safety offices.
