Job Summary

Builds electronic interconnect systems and finished goods to top tier quality standards for the military, aerospace, rail, data/telecommunications, and medical industries.

Job Responsibilities

  • Builds to work instruction, production drawings, customer prints, and/or receives verbal instructions from the Lead for assembling finished goods.
  • Assembles finished goods by placing components and subassemblies into specific relationships defined by work instructions and build prints
  • Performs operations to mechanically affix parts together such as: crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, solder, cement, press, clip, and more.
  • Attaches hardware to finished goods such as: caps, clamps, nuts, jackscrews, c-clips, rivets, standoffs, and more.
  • Packages finished goods to production and company standards which include: vials, bags, trays, and more.
  • Performs intermediate assembly tasks such as: potting, encapsulating, cleaning, epoxying, bonding, stamping, etching, marking, sealing, and more.
  • Performs online verification to ensure parts conform to quality standards.
  • Operates mechanical tools to perform operations including: arbor press, solder pot, sealant machines, pneumatic presses, Hi-pot tester, laser machine, video jet and UV cure machine, and more.
  • Hand tools include: pliers, screw driver, hammer, vise grip, torque wrench, caliper, tweezers, hand bending tool, nut runner tool, contact insertion tool, wire striper tool, dial gauge, microscope, scales, X-acto knife, and check plates
  • Adhere to all Positronic and OSHA Environmental, Health, and Safety Standards.
  • Protecting themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety & health policies
  • Participating in safety program activities
  • Identifying hazards in the workplace and reporting them to their supervisors
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED; or

Experience: 1 to 3 months of experience or training; or

Other: An equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Skills and Requirements

  • Must have the ability to see small parts with ease as the assembly process heavily revolves around small components.
  • Reading, writing, and counting skills are required to understand paperwork and procedures, drawings, and the assembly process.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with regards to questions, comment, and concerns when related to the assembly process.
  • The ability to follow instructions and use a computer to pull procedures and drawings is required.
  • Pre-requisite knowledge of inspection tools is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Employee is required to sit regularly while performing operations with minor repetitive motion.
  • Operations require the use of the employee's hands to finger, handle, and feel parts during the assembly process.
  • Position requires the ability to reach and pull with hands and arms; Occasionally required to stand, walk, and traverse the department.
  • On occasion, the employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
