Job DescriptionNurse Practitioner - Fayetteville, NCAn excellent opportunity exists to work for a government contractor with competitive compensation and work-life balance. Posterity Group, LLC is seeking professional, experienced Nurse Practitioners with a helpful attitude to join our team in taking care of our Veterans at the Veteran Administration's Medical Center (VAMC) in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The VAMC provides a great opportunity to provide outstanding Primary Medical Care to those who have served honorably in our Military Services. In any area of assignment within the HCS, the NPs provide diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up patient care. NPs participate in the care of inpatient and outpatient clients in an independent and interdependent role as assigned by the NP Professional Leader or Chief of Patient Care Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities:
- The NPs shall adhere to the policies of the VAMC, which the Government shall provide upon assignment.
- Executes position responsibilities independently and collaboratively in accordance with the scope and Standards of Nursing Practice within the specialty area.
- Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff.
- Effectively identifies, evaluates, and addresses disease prevention and health promotion issues while administering quality patient care.
- Demonstrate advanced assessment and decision-making skills.
- Maintains legible, accurate, and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations.
- Documents care/visit in CPRS appropriately, accurately, and concisely. Utilizes POE.
- Follows clinical guidelines and standards of practice as provided by VALLHS for health promotion, maintenance, and illness prevention.
- Completes health histories and other clinical documentation consistently and with pertinent information.
- Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues.
- Care and treatment plans are consistent with assessments. Orders and interprets diagnostic tests appropriately.
- Selects/furnishes (prescribes) or recommends pharmacological agents and durable medical equipment appropriately.
- Sets priorities to provide care in an organized and timely manner.
- Presents cases in a concise, organized manner. Participates in professional development.
- Evaluate own performance according to the Advance Practice Nurse (APN) Scope of Practice standards of professional and regulatory bodies and take actions to improve practice.
- Maintains mandatory requirements and competency standards.
- Treats staff, patients, and family with respect and dignity.
- Uses clinical research techniques in decision-making and in making recommendations. Identifies and documents appropriate International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding for patient encounters.
- Educates patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and the use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
- For Mental Health, NP assignments will maintain a panel of patients providing comprehensive Mental Health Evaluation and follow-up care.
- A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
- Board Certified by the National Certification for APRNs (Advance Practice Registered Nurses).
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) by an American Health Association Vendor.
- Current certification in Advanced and Basic Life Support (ACLS/BLS).
- A minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years. VA experience is desirable.
- Salary: $114,882 to $135,556
- 3 weeks Paid Time Off (PTO)
- 11 Federal Holidays
