Computer Systems Analyst I/System Support Specialist 

Location: Carlsbad, NM

Employment Class: Full Time Regular

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Position Summary:

Command Cyber Solutions (a government contractor) is seeking a qualified Computer Systems Analyst I / System Support Specialist to support a Government Technical Services Project for the US DOE TRANSCOM Program. TRANSCOM consists of multiple custom web applications, tools and interfaces and a user help desk that supports users 24-7. This position provides TRANSCOM technical support services directly to the EM CBFO, and DOE sites as needed to aid in the tracking of the transuranic (TRU) waste shipments as well as other radioactive material shipments to meet the DOE mission requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, configure, monitor, and ensure adherence to the technical infrastructure and application hosting environment, both on-premises and in the Cloud, and including but not limited to: o Ingest tools. o Durable data storage (data lake). o Analytics tools and other core technologies. o Support selected open-source tools and requested versions to meet federal government requirements. • Perform routine dependency analyses. • Possess the ability to reverse engineer system architecture. • Maintain interface software between multiple computer environments to ensure smooth operation and communication. • Develop, design and test new systems and software as needed, including but not limited to: o Creating system documentation. o Designing and building a database. o Developing and testing web applications. • Consult and advise on how technology and procedures can be improved upon. • Set up and use various computer systems and software packages. • Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to implement and improve computer systems. • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. • Analyze or recommend commercially available software. 

Education, Experience & Certification Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or IT related field or equivalent professional experience. 

Certifications (one or more required): 

• Certified Systems Analyst Professional (CSAP)• Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP)• ITILv4

Experience:

• Minimum ten (10) years’ experience as a computer systems analyst, systems support specialist, or equivalent role.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Adobe Acrobat, and other software specific to the position.• High level of technical expertise and broad knowledge of hardware, software and programming, including but not limited to:o Systems and Software Engineering. o Application Architecture Evaluation. o Application Refactoring Techniques. o Cloud-Native Application Design Patterns. o Server Virtualization. • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.• Good interpersonal and customer skills; ability to manage expectations and explain technical details.• Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, local laws, regulations and requirements, including but not limited to current DOE Directives (https://energy.gov/em/doe-directive).• Effective oral and written communication skills.• Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and client personnel. Display a professional customer-service attitude at all times.• Adhere to fundamental principles of ethical service pursuant to federal, state and local regulations.

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands

• Basic office work environment at government facility.• Position requires shift flexibility to support a 24x7x365 operation.
• Occasionally, project requirements may require temporary adjustment of work hours/days.• Duties are subject to change based on the needs of the customer.
