Potawatomi Federal Solutions is Hiring a Family Medicine Physician Near Gallup, NM
Location: Gallup, New Mexico
- Position contingent upon award of contract.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient specialist and medical services with the Internal and Family Medicine Clinic, wards and other clinical settings at Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC).
- Attend specialist clinic sessions, evaluating patient complaints, making diagnoses, designing treatment plans, educating the patient and family about their condition and initiating care.
- Prepare prescriptions accurately following Federal and U.S Public Health Service laws and policies.
- The provider shall assure appropriateness of drug therapy.
- The provider will assure that drug therapy is safe, efficacious, and cost effective.
- Standards of care developed or adopted by the professional staff of the facility shall be the criteria for appropriateness of drug therapy.
- The provider shall screen the patient health record to avoid inappropriate drug interactions and monitor patient for the appropriateness of therapy.
- Provider shall abide by all protocols, patient confidentiality, and record keeping consistent with HIPAA and Privacy Act regulation.
- Adherence to policies and quality improvement processes.
- Participate in the GIMC Family Medicine Department peer review system and make practice modifications in accordance with the peer review group’s findings and recommendations.
- Participate in the GIMC performance improvement program within the scope of clinical activity. This includes working with Discharge Planning to help facilitate timely accommodation of patient needs and prompt dispositions.
- Maintain patient records in the Problem Oriented Medical Record format utilizing Patient Care Component of the RPMS computer system.
- The Physician shall maintain appropriate licensure and certification status through the term of this contract.
- Possess a valid, active, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state within the United States, District of Columbia, or the commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
- Possess current certification by the American Board of Family Medicine
- Documentation of completion of Rheumatology, Nephrology, Dermatology and/or other sub-specialist training or fellowship of at least 2-4 years.
- Valid Drivers License from any state.
- Immunity to Rubella, Mumps, Measles
- Immunity to Hepatitis B series
- History of Chicken Pox (Varicella) disease or positive titer
- Tetanus Diphtheria (Td) within the last 5 years
- Documentation of receiving a TB Mantoux skin test (PPD) within the past 12 months with documentation of follow-up for a positive test.
- Other immunizations as required by NAIHS immunization policy.
