General DescriptionAre you passionate about transforming data into actionable insights? Do you thrive in a dynamic IT environment where innovation drives success? If so, we invite you to join our team as a Business Intelligence Engineer at Potbelly.
FOCUSResponsibilities

• Assists in analysis, design, implementation and testing activities associated with database development, system integration, reporting systems and maintenance.
• Program and implement reporting interfaces, tools and solutions.
• Update programs to correct or enhance functionality.
• Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Assist users in learning and using reporting tools.
• Perform ad hoc queries, analysis and reporting as required.
• Develop and Maintain ETL data pipelines using PySpark.
• Monitor data sources for errors and omissions, recommend and implement improvements.
• Ensure availability and performance of the databases that support the system.
• Provide on-call support.
• Act as an IT liaison for data stewards, and help establish successful data governance.
• Document and maintain Data Lineage and Ontology.
• Handle various special projects.

Essential Physical Functions

• Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 45 to 55 hours a week.
• Will frequently key in data.
• Must be able to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues.
• Must be able to communicate heavily through phone, email, video conferencing, Microsoft Teams, text/SMS, and in-person communications.

Experience, Education And Behaviors

• Must represent The Potbelly Advantage and Our Values.
• 3 years of experience with complete Microsoft SQL Server stack
• Microsoft SQL Server.
• SQL Server Integration Services
• 3 years T-SQL experience.
• 2 years Python script, PySpark and SparkSQL Notebooks using DeltaLake and Iceberg tables.
• Familiarity with AWS Glue, AWS S3 buckets.
• Familiarity with REST Services and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with Agile software development.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
• Strong interpersonal communications, time management, organization, decision making and customer service skills.
• Represent Potbelly in a professional manner at all times.
• Will work rotational schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
