Qualifications
- Qualified candidates must hold an active certification/Licensure to practice as a Dental Assistant (OR X-ray Technician)
- Must possess at least one year of non-internship post graduation experience in a similar setting.
- Provides preventive dental health education which will promote good oral hygiene and dental health improvement.
- Consults with center wellness staff, counselors, residential advisors, instructors and other appropriate staff concerning the ongoing dental health problems and needs of students
- Develops and/or assures compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
- Ensures the maintenance, confidentiality and safeguarding of all student dental records.
- Establishes priorities for providing comprehensive dental care, based upon diagnoses and within program constraints.
- Takes and develops dental radiographs (x-rays) as directed by center dentist.
- Monitors inventory levels and reorder dental supplies as needed.
- Performs office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, and billing).
- Performs quality assurance record audits.
- Participates in department system for student feedback or concerns.
- Maintains dental records.
- Maintains dental statistics for dental productivity and monthly utilization reports.
