Pay Rate: $14.42/hr Hours/day: Hours will be submitted via timecard. Work calendar days: July 21 to July 27Duration of position: One WeekBenefits include: This is a non-benefited position Must be a current high school student 14 years or older.Information specific to this position: We are seeking motivated and compassionate students aged 14 and older to participate in our Peer Recovery Coach Training program. This training offers students the opportunity to gain valuable skills, earn academic credit, and receive hourly pay while making a positive impact in our community. Job Description: As a Peer Recovery Coach Trainee, you will undergo comprehensive training to become equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide support, guidance, and mentorship to individuals undergoing substance abuse recovery or needing mental health support. Your responsibilities will include: attending all scheduled training sessions as outlined in the program schedule; actively participating in training activities, discussions, and role-play exercises to enhance learning and skill development; demonstrating empathy, respect, and non-judgmental support towards individuals in recovery; applying motivational interviewing techniques to engage and empower individuals in their recovery journey; learning and implementing trauma-informed peer-support practices to address the complex needs of individuals with histories of trauma; collaborating with trainers and fellow trainees to create a supportive learning environment; and completing assigned coursework and assessments to track progress and understanding of key concepts. Qualifications: Must demonstrate interest in supporting individuals in recovery from substance abuse challenges or needing mental health support, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of individuals in recovery, willingness to learn and actively participate in training activities, and show empathy and non-judgmental attitude towards individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences.Training benefits: Hourly pay for participation in training sessions; Work-Based Learning Credit (subject to approval by your PSD high school); valuable skills and knowledge in peer support, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care; and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals in recovery and contribute to the community.
