POWER Engineers is Hiring a GIS Analyst Near Phoenix, AZ

GIS Analyst- On site

POWER Engineers, Inc., through its Environmental Division, provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services to clients worldwide. POWER Engineers is seeking a GIS Analysts to join our Mapping & Analysis team in our Phoenix, AZ, Denver, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, or Boise, ID office locations.

This position will be on site within any of the covered states listed above.

Roles and Responsibilities

This position provides GIS mapping and analysis support for routing and siting, impact assessment, permitting, and analysis for critical electric and pipeline infrastructure. Candidate should be a self-starter with the desire and ability to take the lead on projects and possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The GIS Analyst will provide support for projects including:

  • Project-based GIS team leadership
  • Project coordination as it pertains to performing project tasks
  • Data collection, processing, analysis, and reporting
  • Cartographic design and map production
  • Quality assurance and control

 Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Resource Management, or a related field with a specialization in GIS
  • Consulting experience with linear utility routing, siting, and permitting projects
  • Five (5) professional experience with Esri analysis software
  • Proficiency in ArcPro
  • Presentation-quality cartographic skills (portfolio examples are welcome)
  • Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical staff/management
  • Strong general computer skills (troubleshooting/problem-solving)
  • Proficiency in Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience providing GIS analysis for a State and/or Federal environmental projects
  • Esri Field Maps setup and maintenance
  • ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Portal web map publishing
  • Esri ArcGIS Survey123

Base Salary Range: $60K - $80K

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on several factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
