Senior Substation Design Engineer Job SummaryPOWER Engineers is currently seeking a senior level Electrical Engineer with substantial experience in substation design. This position is in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Syracuse, New York office. An in-office or hybrid work environment is available (however a remote role might be considered; it would depend on the individual's level of experience and proven ability to work on a remote basis successfully).

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $80k - $120k per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.

Roles And Responsibilities
- Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations.
- One-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.
- Occasional travel will be required.
- Ability to function as a Senior Substation Design Engineer for the Syracuse location of our Substation Business Unit.
- BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option.
- Professional Engineering license (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Experience in 15kV through 500kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards.
- Experience filling the role of design engineer for several substation projects occurring concurrently.
- The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
- Ten (10) or more years experience in utility substation design as outlined above.
