POSITION: Field Quality Engineer

LOCATION: Scarborough, ME Preferred

STATUS: Salary-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing overall management and ensuring product quality of all field service-related activities. Ensure our quality documentation aligns with our EHS policies and procedures. The position provides an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, flexible individual who enjoys challenging and diverse job responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure correct document management and storage of field service documents and records.
  • Support pre outage planning together with the Field Service Operations Manager to review and develop quality documentation based on agreed scope of work.
  • Lead and facilitate lean outage practices through tooling design, procurement, digital enhancements to drive improved safety, quality, and overall outage efficiency.
  • Lead development of field service work instructions and other quality related documents for new or improved products through alignment with the Field Service Operations Manager and Engineering and improve upon existing documentation.
  • Review and approve field service document records for completeness.
  • Lead quality investigations and support implementation of corrective action.
  • Ensure that processes for all field service and on site activities are properly managed, measure, and improved under PSM Quality Management System and complies with ISO standards.
  • Support internal and external quality audits.
  • Maintain records of all Field Service employee’s training/certification records.
  • Develop technical training materials for new and existing Field Service employees.
  • Support EHS investigations and lead corrective actions that result in Work Instruction modification or tooling design.
  • Continue development of technical training program to enhance and strengthen overall quality.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement in all key areas of outage performance, EHS, Quality, and Schedule
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to field service personnel as it relates to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Support field service personnel successfully completing necessary training needs and certifications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

Skills/Experience

  • 10 years of experience conducting outages on E or F class Gas Turbines.
  • 2 years of experience in a quality related role or experience involved in process improvement.
  • Proven ability to act independently, demonstrating initiative and ownership.
  • Personality & ability to work within a multi-cultural environment.
  • 5 years of experience solving technical or organizational problems on cross-functional teams, with communication skills at an advanced level.
  • 5 years of experience making sound judgments and decisions; including speed, quality, and complexity.
  • Proven track record of EHS leadership by example; including personal responsibility to prevent accidents, reward and encourage proactive safety, participation in risk assessment and EHS initiatives, take actions aligned to proper work conditions including business travel, customer site requirements, and overall employee wellbeing.
  • Proficient in computer applications relevant to operational management; including SAP, Primavera, MS Office programs.
  • Ability to be on call after normal working times and maintain flexible work hours.
  • Ability to travel 10 – 20% both domestic and international with limited notice.
