DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Be available to complete any estimating task, as and when needed.
· Log all appointments in Service Titan with Estimate notes and create any required tasks in the task manager in Service Titan.
· Creation and review of requests for estimate evaluations.
· Maintenance of bid estimates to ensure they are completed, reviewed, and updated in Service Titan.
· Review of all completed estimates prior to completion
· Maintain and Brief the Service Manager on the estimation pipeline and offer any suggestions for improvement.
· Follow Up with clients, and document notes and visits in Service Titan.
· Cultivate relationships with GCs, Clients, and vendors.
· Continually review all materials and labor costs that are to be used in estimations.
· Adhere to all established estimating standards and procedures to protect the interests of the Company.
· As and when requested, train new employees.
· Submit work or activity reports according to Company policy.
· Maintain good, business-like relations with other trades, vendors/suppliers, and clients.
· Ensure that all records relating to and flowing through the estimating function, are filed properly and easily accessible only by authorized personnel.
· Protect confidential company data, programs, and information and restrict access only to company employees duly authorized by the president.
· Perform all other tasks, within job requirements, as assigned by the Service Manager.
· Perform Take-off from plans and or construction documents
· Send out quote requests to our lighting and switchgear vendors.
· Contact suppliers or the purchasing department to obtain bids on material needed for each job and estimate the total material cost for each new job.
· Ensure that bids made from your estimate are tracked to make sure the estimate was received.
· Respond to daily emails
· Continually review all materials and labor costs used in estimating bids.
· Submit work or activity reports according to Company policy.
· Job site visits, job walks
· Continue to build knowledge and education Maintain neat, concise, legible estimates.
· Oversee work progress, complete logs, and update supervisors about challenges.
· Write up technical reports, subcontracts, project updates, and proposals.
· Interpret plans and construction materials to propose and double-check estimates.
· Identify and resolve deviations from the proposal, including scope and specifications.
Provide estimates in a timely manner on time and in the allotted promised schedule
Expectations: The use of analytical and observational skills that demonstrate abilities to: interact with vendors/suppliers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors, follow company policy, and complete valid estimations within tight time constraints, sometimes stressful situations, accurately, and in a timely manner.
Knowledge & Skills:
· Electrical Estimating; fundamentals of estimating, speed along with accuracy
· Design Build experience
· Knowledge & understanding of lighting, power, HVAC, distribution etc.
· Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
· Advanced understanding of the electrical industry.
· Progressive & timely approach to problem-solving.
· Ability to read & interpret plans/blueprints, as builds, SK drawings etc.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· High level of computer skills; ability to create Excel spreadsheets, full proficiency with Microsoft Office software, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, ConEst Intel ibid
· Above average organizational skills
Education:
· High school or equivalent. Trade school or Junior College (AA) degree, or completion of an electrician training program
Experience:
· Minimum: 2 years in an electrical construction setting as an electrician, estimator or management
· Preferred: Five years or more in the electrical construction or general construction industry, which should include at least three years of estimating experience.
