Job Title: Assembler I
Department: Manufacturing
Reports to: Value Stream Team Leader

Purpose:
Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
Principle Accountabilities: (Provide 5-8 Accountabilities for the position)
• Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists;
gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
• Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifies supervisor to obtain
additional resources.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level
• Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Attends and contributes to team EI meetings.
• Contributes to team by accomplishing results as needed.
• Cross-trains in all areas of assembly and helps in other departments as needed.

• Applied knowledge of Controls and Instrumentation
• Applied knowledge and ability to read blueprints and assemble parts according to specification
• Knowledge of manufacturing quality
• Applied knowledge of mechanical inspection tools
• Applied knowledge of hand tools
• Applied knowledge of power tools
• Use of good judgment
• Willingness to cross train in other areas of the plant as required
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Language Skills:
Ability to speak English and Spanish is a plus but not required.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percentages and other metrics, and to communicate
results.

STANDING/WALKING
Position will require standing on a concrete floor (on a fatigue mat) all day with the exception of two 10-
minute breaks and a 20 minute lunch break.
LIFTING /CARRYING
Lifting up to 20 lbs. Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
Most objects being lift will be lifted approximately from floor to waste. (36”)
SITTING
None to very limited.
PUSH/PULL
Position requires being able to push/pull 2 and 4 wheel carts weighing approx. 200#.
CROUCHING/SQUATING/KNEELING
Putting on hoses and other assembly functions will require crouching, squatting, and kneeling.
BALANCE
Good balance is required to do many of the assembly functions.
REACHING
Position requires arm length reaching while handling equipment and parts that may weigh approximately
3 lbs.
GRASPING/HANDLING
Grasping and pinching is required to operate all equipment necessary to perform job functions. Good
hand dexterity is required to move hands into different positions.
VISION
Good vision is required for reading blue prints and welding.
TASTE/SMELL
Taste or smelling to help detect if something is burning or possibly leaking.
HEARING
Being able to hear instructions is an important part of the job
