PPG is hiring a Category Advisor to partner with our Walmart account, based in Rogers, Arkansas! In this Advisor role, you will work extensively with point-of-sale data, inventory, and forecasting systems to drive category growth.

Key areas of responsibility include pulling, coordinating, and analyzing data to build business reports, generate actional insights, and drive category strategies.

The ideal candidate will aspire to become the category expert and strive to achieve credibility and accountability with the Walmart merchant team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide Walmart Merchants with advice that is objective, accurate, factual, and impartial to grow the category.

Ownership, development, and execution of modular planning process using (JDA) Space Planning software.

Develop weekly / monthly / quarterly category performance reporting. Included are weekly tracking reports, productivity reports, and ad hoc reports.

Ability to continually improve and refine these reports to maximize actionable insights to proactively communicate with the merchant team.

Analyze Walmart modulars and develop strategy to enhance efficiency / effectiveness.

Leverage data from multiple resources and analyze comprehensive metrics to identify competitive trends, unbiased tactical insights, and discover new business opportunities for growth and focus within the category.

Serve as the primary contact for data and analysis support for all requested Walmart reports. Coordinate intelligence on pricing adjustments, product and category tests, new product introductions, and promotions.

Initiate and conduct analyses for both ad-hoc and periodic data reporting and present data in a way that is readily understood and highly relevant for decision making

Explore SOTC opportunities to develop differentiated assortment strategies and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred.

4 years' of experience working within a segment of Walmart.

Sophisticated knowledge of applications : Excel, PowerPoint, Space Planning, and Retail Link (DSS) preferred.

Luminate experience is a plus.

Ability to build long term customer relationships, as well as possess capabilities to influence others.
