Job Description

The R&D Engineer, Sustainable Technologies will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new technologies that can enhance the sustainability and circularity of PQ’s products and processes. The role will involve conducting research, developing prototypes, testing and validating solutions, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or related fields, and a passion for innovation and sustainability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new technologies that can improve the environmental performance, resource efficiency, and circularity of PQ’s products and processes.
• Conduct research, literature reviews, feasibility studies, and market analysis to assess the technical, economic, and environmental potential of new technologies.
• Develop and test prototypes, models, and simulations of new technologies, using appropriate tools and methods.
• Validate and optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of new technologies, using experimental data and statistical analysis.
• Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and presentations to communicate the results and recommendations of research projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as product development teams, manufacturing teams, customers, suppliers, academic institutions, and research organizations, to facilitate the adoption and integration of new technologies.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends, developments, and best practices in sustainable and circular technologies, and provide insights and feedback to the management and the research team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years industrial experience
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word).
• Experience working with and maintaining sensitive and confidential information.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and be a team player
