Job Description

The Regional Maintenance Planner and Scheduler is a critical role within the Maintenance organization that, manages, creates, updates, and maintains the Maintenance schedule and plan for general Maintenance and Turnarounds at several locations. This role also includes supervising certain aspects of the turnarounds and maintenance teams to execute the schedule. To create the schedule and plans, the Planner collects, organizes, and documents the work order steps with resources, tools, and materials to execute maintenance scope of work safely and effectively. 

The Regional Maintenance Planner plans and directs employee schedules to provide on time completion of work. The planner facilitates maintenance productivity (ability to schedule effectively, quality of workmanship, utilization of labor, materials, and services) to ensure safe and quality work execution through clear Work Order development. The Regional Maintenance Planner utilizes current knowledge/documentation and improves documentation for future use.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Vocation or Trade School diploma preferred. 10 years working as a maintenance mechanic or IE in an industrial production facility.
  • This position will require the ability to travel 50% of the time supporting and supervising turnarounds at the various sites managed.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Site safety policies, procedures, and training as required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with other software tools as appropriate; Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Knowledge of production process (chemicals, hazards, and unit operations).
  • Knowledge of Predictive Maintenance techniques (examples- steam trap testing, oil analysis, etc.).
  • Knowledge of equipment hazards, failure modes, and the complexity of various maintenance restoration techniques; to effectively build the necessary time, skills, tools, materials, activities, and sequence required to execute the scope of work into the work order in a way that facilitates the scheduling process.
  • Knowledge of first break and lock out requirements
  • Knowledge of Engineering Standards as applied to Pipe and Valve Codes.
  • Ability to translate written repair procedures into task lists or Work Orders and Shop papers (job packages) to facilitate effective scheduling.
  • Ability to interpret drawings to create quality work order structure (planning) and create sketches for communication to mechanics as part of work execution package.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience with the Maintenance Work Management Process (WMP) and its impact upon asset reliability.
  • Knowledge of and experience with and have ability to access Maintenance policies, procedures, and maintenance training as required.
  • Understanding of Management of Change Technology (MOC-T) and Management of Change of Facilities (MOC-F) and how they relate to the Planning process.
  • Knowledge of the production/utility equipment and the impact on production process.
  • Knowledge of and experience with creating field isometric drawings of piping systems for mechanics as part of work execution package.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the creation of the material master data descriptions to ensure that the material meets the usage requirements.
