Job Summary
This full-time (1.0 status or 40 hours weekly) Monday-Friday position performs scheduling functions for Medical Oncology appointments, Oncology Infusions, ancillary, and referrals to other providers, verifies preauthorization/precertification for Oncology Imaging studies.
Wage range: $17.25-$25.04
Responsibilities include:
•Provides excellent customer service while greeting, welcoming patients, answering the telephone, screening and routing calls appropriately in a courteous and prompt manner.
•Maintains and coordinates the providers schedules to achieve efficient and appropriate patient flow in clinic.
•Maintains, coordinates, and documents the patient scheduling, rescheduling and canceling patient appointments as required.
•Schedules procedures, infusions, appointments, referrals, and Radiology testing with the patient and facilities.
•Provides basic scheduling instructions to patients to ensure that they are prepared for appointments, procedures, or scheduled tests.
•Coordinates copy requests with internal copy service. Copies medical records for internal departments appropriately upon request.
•Takes new patient referrals. Organizes, files and retrieves medical records which includes data from office visits, labs, radiology, inpatient visits and correspondence from referring providers if applicable.
•Schedules and completes prior authorizations for all imaging studies.
•Maintain access to insurance portals for prior authorizations.
•Attend workshops and on-line sessions to receive updated insurance and authorization information.
•Answer patient insurance authorization questions
•Answer phones and schedule appointments.
•Opens and distributes mail appropriately.
•Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of medical office experience preferred.
Microsoft applications, CPSI.
Prairie Lakes Healthcare System has a Drug Free Workplace Policy. An accepted offer will require a drug screen and pre-employment background screening as a condition of employment.
