Job Summary
This full-time (1.0 status or 40 hours/week) position will collect and verify all patient demographic and financial information while adhering to ethical and legal standards and recognizing and responding to emergencies while demonstrating professional characteristics.
Responsibilities include:
•Register and admit patients by obtaining relevant patient demographic and insurance information.
•Place patients on tracking board for appropriate provider and specialty.
•Greet, direct and provide information to patients and visitors.
•Maintain and coordinate providers and patients schedules.
•Answer incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
•Schedule clinic and diagnostic appointments for patients.
•Retrieve patient medical information from referring provider if applicable.
•Organize, file and retrieve all medical records which will include data from office visit, lab, radiology, cath lab, inpatient visits and correspondence from referring providers.
•Responsible for the mailing of provider correspondence.
•Collect and post payments for services.
•Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six months prior hospital/medical or general office experience preferred. Previous patient registration and computer experience desirable.
