Job Summary
This full-time position works with Surgical Services staff as a technician to support functions to include routine OR specific housekeeping, patient transport and case support activities.
Responsibilities include:
•Distributes scrubs and laundry to appropriate areas and assists with maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
•Confirms OR lounges and locker rooms are stocked and in good condition to start the day.
•Acts as a courier collecting and distributing mail, delivering supplies, requisitions, specimens, and materials to the appropriate areas and departments.
•Assists with pulling supplies, instruments, and equipment for next day cases.
•Assists with performing turnover of OR rooms to include cleaning, emptying garbage, and assisting the team with case set-up.
•Assist in Sterile Processing as needed and trained.
•Assist materials management techs with loading stock, filling requisitions, and putting supplies away.
•Assists staff with checking outdates and handling of OR supplies.
•Assists with transporting patients during the perioperative phases using proper identification and hand off communication processes.
•Provides directions to patients, their families and visitors in a concise, informative and positive manner referring them to appropriate person or waiting room.
•Answers telephone, screens and routes call appropriately.
•Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mandatory Basic Life Support Training per policy.
