Job Description
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Examines and evaluates documents such as application forms, inspection reports, product brochures and other data to determine degree of risk, underwriting and market selection.
• Accepts, prices and binds insurance within underwriting authority.
• Prepares submissions; markets and negotiates with insurance companies on individual accounts.
• Communicates by correspondence or in person with account executives, clients and underwriters to obtain further information, quote rates or service existing accounts.
• Assists sales and support staff in resolving problems and questions.
• Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

Qualifications

• Delaware Insurance Agent's license is required
• Strong working knowledge of insurance policies with the ability to explain them to customers.
• A professional phone and in-person presence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers from multiple companies.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard practices.
