Summary

Job Summary: 

Accompanies the physician and directly observes patient encounters without directly assisting with patient care. Accurately documents the events and decision-making in a manner that results in appropriate medical charting including but not limited to patient history, physical exams, diagnostic findings, lab and test results, consultations with other providers, diagnoses, discharge instructions and prescriptions. Complete clerical activities necessary to assist with processing of physician orders for tests and medications. Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol. Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities. Seeks and assists with other nursing duties as time permits.

Job Qualifications: Licensed RN in the state of Kansas. Requires basic computer literacy within a Windows environment, including word processing functions, use of the internet, and computer-based education. Keyboarding ability required. Experience using CPSI documentation software will be an asset, to include nursing assessemnts, electronic MAR with bedside barcode scanning, and Computerized Physician Order Entry. Successful candidates should be ready to use information technology in a meaningful way, in order to improve patient outcomes and ensure patient safety.
