- Can accurately read and use a tape measure down to the 16th of an inch.
- Can safely operate a nail gun. Understands its safety features and knows how to appropriately use without causing wood to splinter, shine or shoot out where it can injure the associate or anyone else.
- Can safely operate all other hand tools needed for the required job. Etc.., Framing Hammers
- Can safely operate all chop, panel, table and hand saws.
- Can identify all lumber products by size, type and species by sight.
- Read, interpret and understand all aspects of build sheets. Can identify the different components, measurements, materials, species and nail patterns.
- Understands how to build panels in a safe manner.
- Ready to work with personal protection equipment on at starting time.
- Knowledge of common building materials used in residential, multi-family and commercial construction
- Knowledge of component manufacturing process used in residential, multi-family and commercial construction
- Attention to detail, takes pride in quality of work
- Efficient and able to complete assignments within a given deadline
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Communicates effectively with team members
