Histology Technician (11PM-7AM)

Job Description:

Hiring for full-time HT-Certified Histotechnician, High Complexity preferred

Requirements:

• Certified HT(ASCP) required.
• High Complexity Technician qualification preferred.
• A minimum of (2) years experience working in an anatomic pathology laboratory.
• Dermatology histology experience preferred.
• IHC-Q preferred.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Attention to detail is crucial to this position.
• Completion of all necessary coursework and training to be a practicing Histotechnician.
• Grossing experience (preferred).

Performances:

• Prepares histologic slides, performs special stains from tissue sections obtained for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists. Experience in immunohistochemistry.
• Responsible for all aspects of histology lab operations:
• Maintains all records regarding samples received and processed.
• Maintains permanent histology blocks.
• Maintains adequate inventory of chemicals and other supplies.
• Ensures maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Prepares standard solutions and washes/cleans laboratory containers and equipment as required.
