SummaryOur client is is a leading application Engineering Consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. metro region specializing in Management Services, Technology Solutions and Facilities Services. They partner with and assist Federal, State and local government agencies; private sector Energy Services Companies (ESCOs); and Commercial entities in the design and implementation of their various Engineering and Technology related projects. Additionally, they are able to leverage an engineering team with proven technology industry experience that resulted in multi-million-dollar contracts within federal government, state & local government clients!
ResponsibilitiesOur client is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join their team to support the VITA contract! The Senior Business Analyst will work on a Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Modernization project within the Data Exchange Program. This project will replace the existing data warehouse with a new cloud architecture, integrate with a variety of source systems, and implement a Master Person Identifier (MPI) to link individuals across data sources. Connections to source systems will be configured and reports will be refactored.
- Coordinate extensively with internal and external stakeholders to gather and document requirements, analyze business needs, and collect, analyze, and document data for ingestion into the EDW
- Create data dictionaries with input from data stewards
- Meet with stakeholders to document report requirements
- Work with business and IT teams to understand and document current business processes
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reporting
- Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements and adhere to data governance and security standards
- Retrieve, manipulate, and combine data from multiple sources using SQL to derive insights
- Analyze complex systems and processes to evaluate alternatives and make recommendations
- Translate technical information into layman's terms and actively listen to understand stakeholder needs; create documentation
- Collaborate with diverse teams and negotiate between different stakeholders' requirements
- Understand business processes and objectives to align technical solutions with business goals
- Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; manage multiple tasks simultaneously; identify and mitigate risks
- Adapt to changes in the project; take the initiative to learn the business and technical environment and tools
- Focus on delivering value to stakeholders and end users; demonstrate empathy towards user challenges and responsiveness to feedback
- 8 years of experience in:
- retrieving, manipulating, and combining data from multiple sources using SQL
- analytical skills to analyze complex systems and processes to evaluate alternatives and make recommendations
- communication skills to translate technical information into layman's terms and actively listen to understand stakeholder needs; create documentation
- interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and negotiate between different stakeholders' requirements
- business acumen to understand business processes and objectives to align technical solutions with business goals
- organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; manage multiple tasks simultaneously; identify and mitigate risks
- adaptability and continuous learning to adapt to changes in the project; take the initiative to learn the business and technical environment and tools
- customer service orientation to focus on delivering value to stakeholders and end users; empathy towards user challenges; responsiveness to feedback
- Intermediate to advanced SQL querying skills
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to take initiative and ownership over work
- Proven experience in overseeing quality assurance processes and adhering to data governance and security standards
- 2 years of familiarity with healthcare data
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) is required
