Our drivers play a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring the timely delivery of steel plating and smaller steel materials to machine shops of all sizes. Responsibilities
- Transport steel plating and smaller steel materials to various machine shops.
- Conduct vehicle inspections for mechanical and safety issues, and perform preventative maintenance.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles driven, and retain fuel/toll receipts.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations promptly.
- Proven experience as a Class A Truck Driver.
- Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc).
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- Ability to adapt and handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc).
- Valid Class A CDL license.
