Associate Energy Transition

U.S. Office Locations - BOSTON, CHICAGO, NEW YORK

• AmLaw 50 firm is seeking Associate with at least 3 years' experience to join its Energy Transition corporate, transactional, project development, and finance practices.
• The firm’s preferred location for this role is Boston, but qualified candidates in Chicago or New York will also be considered.

Other office locations may be evaluated based on business needs and candidate experience.

Role Overview :

• Engage in high-impact energy transition projects, including hydrogen, carbon capture, utilization, and storage, renewable fuels (such as renewable natural gas and sustainable aviation fuel), and lithium extraction.
• Exposure to traditional renewable energy projects like solar, wind, and battery storage is also welcomed.
• Lead and advise on complex transactional and project development matters such as mergers and acquisitions, land purchase agreements, offtake agreements (e.

g., power purchase agreements), pore space leases, hydrogen and lithium extraction agreements, and joint venture and partnership agreements.

• Draft and negotiate critical project documents including EPC and BOP contracts, equipment supply / procurement agreements, and O&M agreements.
• Strong drafting and project management skills are essential.
• Experience with traditional upstream and midstream oil and gas projects transitioning into energy transition work will be highly valued.

Qualifications :

• JD from an ABA-approved law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where the candidate is located. Admission to the Bar in the office of hire will be required.

Compensation and Benefits :

The expected salary range is $260,000 - $390,000, based on experience and job-related factors.

• Denver : Similar benefits. The expected salary range is $260,000 - $390,000.
• New York : In accordance with the New York City Human Rights Law, the salary range is $260,000 - $390,000.
• Washington, D.C. : Benefits as listed above. The expected salary range is $260,000 - $390,000.
