Nurse Educator

For over 35 years, Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services, a Care Options for Kids Company, has been providing compassionate and dependable medical and non-medical home health care services throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Through our quality care, we help our clients with the medical, physical, and emotional strain that comes when home health care is needed the most. Preferred is currently hiring a nurse educator for our New Jersey offices.

Duties of Position

1. Plans, provides, and supervises training in both a virtual and classroom settings, informing students of standard best practices and laws surrounding specialized hands-on nursing skills

2. Acts on behalf of the clinical department as a liaison with the medical community, clients, and branch personnel

Responsibilities of Position

1. Provides related instruction and supervises employees

2. Prepares, administers, and grades applicable tests

3. Documents employees’ progress and completes required forms or reports

4. Prepares and submits a course of study, including program objectives, student performance objectives, and lesson plans

5. Conducts training in accordance with all regulations and company policies

6. Assists, as requested, in the creation and execution of all product training programs and activities

7. Assists, as requested, in the creation and revision of all supporting product training materials and resources

8. Collaborates with individual office personnel to promote optimal staffing of clients after determining competency of employees

9. Reviews client clinical records to assist in knowledge of the client base of individual offices

10. Assists with new hire orientation

11. Performs other duties as assigned in a professional matter

Job Conditions

1. Position may be stressful in terms of meeting deadlines in a complex and dynamic teaching environment

2. May be required to bend, stoop, reach, and move clients as well as lift and carry more than 50 pounds

3. Flexibility with schedule, including nights and weekends

4. Travel is required

Qualifications

1. Must be a registered nurse (RN) licensed in the state of practice

2. Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing

3. Must have two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse (RN); a minimum of 1 year of the experience must be in home care

4. Previous experience in educating staff, clients, and/or community

5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as public speaking before large and small groups

6. Extensive knowledge of DME equipment

7. Customer-service oriented

8. Working knowledge of, or proficiency in, Microsoft office applications, electronic medical records, and quick-to-learn proprietary software package

9. The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
