We are hiring an experienced Sales Agronomist to ensure our customers maximize their crop yields and farm efficiency through our products and services. In this role, you will work closely with growers as their trusted consultant throughout the growing season. When not in the office, you will be at the farmgate with customers, crop scouting and advising our customers on products to best fit their needs to maximize profits. Our team believes in a family-first culture and supports our employees. What you will be doing:
Make sales calls to determine agronomy needs, create solutions and build long term relationships with customers that will generate sales of seed, fertilizer, ag chemicals and agronomy services.
Maintain a current book of business while also driving new sales through prospecting to establish and build long-term relationships.
Help direct timely and accurate application of fertilizer and crop protection products safely and in accordance with company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
Know and use all resources necessary to make proper recommendations and applications of products sold.
Keep current on agronomic products, trends, problems, services, and resources.
Effectively network with industry partners to enhance sales opportunities.
Provide recommendations based on crop-specific agronomic needs.
Supervise and conduct soil and tissue sampling as needed.
Coordinate deliveries of bulk fertilizer, chemicals, seed, and other products to meet objectives and maintain an efficient delivery system.
Build strong relationships with and amongst the operations and other staff.
Generate and analyze monthly sales reports to supervisor, as well as establish annual sales goals and projections.
CRM reporting - AgriMine/AgVantage /One Drive
Perform tasks to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve productivity.
Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.
Uphold cooperative policies, perform other duties as assigned by management, and will enforce and uphold the cooperative's credit policy.
Qualifications:
2 or more years of experience as a crop advisor or relatable sales experience.
Possess a positive attitude and be able to work harmoniously with your co-workers and customers, while maintaining a positive image of the company in personal and work discussions.
Must be self-motivated and able to take a task from start to finish with little supervision.
Must be honest and possess high moral and ethical standards in carrying out duties.
Must be insurable and remain insurable under regular company insurance policy.
