Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our dental professionals in providing quality dental care to our patients. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing patient support
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical documentation using the Epic system
- Follow all HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
Skills:
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques, including knowledge of aseptic technique and medical terminology
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred
- Ability to operate dental x-ray equipment and capture high-quality images
- Familiarity with Epic or other electronic medical record systems is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and other team members
- Excellent organizational skills to manage patient records and appointment schedules
