Premier Life Science is Hiring an EHS - Sustainability Manager Near Deerfield, IL

Job Title : EHS Sustainability Manager - Corporate Sustainability Manager

Location : Hybrid @ Illinois

Duration : 12 Months

Purpose of the Position:

The role provides global sustainability support for a designated business segment and addresses new and emerging Corporate Responsibility/Sustainability stakeholder needs. It focuses on deploying client's Global Corporate Responsibility (CR) Goals, providing sustainability information about operational improvements, products, and services, and ensuring these efforts create value for internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves executing the corporate sustainability strategy and working collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Key Focus:

  • Coordinate CDP response
  • Support execution of double materiality assessment (DMA)
  • Liaison with MPT business segment on sustainability projects, customer inquiries, and tenders
  • Recast 2030 corporate responsibility goals
  • Develop Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi) strategy

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sustainability projects to meet corporate responsibility goals.
  • Identify and promote the environmental attributes of client's operations, products, and services.
  • Implement best sustainability practices across the segment.
  • Develop materials to communicate sustainability progress.
  • Represent the segment in delivering governance, customer, and legislative information.
  • Collaborate with R&D to influence sustainable product design.
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on client’s Corporate Responsibility Goals.
  • Integrate sustainability initiatives across all business functions.
  • Support certification efforts and develop sustainability materials for stakeholders.
  • Lead and support CR/sustainability initiatives aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Stay informed about best practices in sustainability.
  • Collect and enhance sustainability data.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must be able to drive and willing to travel regionally (20%) and occasionally globally.

Required Experience:

  • 7 years in Sustainability/Corporate Responsibility
  • Background in environmental or sustainability management/engineering
  • 5 years in medical devices or pharma industry
  • Management level experience
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and EHS professionals
  • Understanding of cultural differences in EMEA
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desirable Experience:

  • Representing client at industry forums
  • Knowledge of EU environmental policy and legislation
  • Qualified EMS auditor or experience in conducting environmental audits
  • Additional EHS qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, Dip Occ Hygiene)
