The Food Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting site compliance with FSSC 22000 requirements in the Pedricktown Manufacturing Site. This position requires a commitment to support the Site manager in compliance with an established Food Safety program policies and practices.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Lead compliance with corporate food safety initiatives
  • Product standards and tolerances
    • Review of vendor and manufacturing practices and intervene when necessary.
    • Conduct regular audits of distribution and manufacturing operations at the site.
    • Lead quality training activities for sites within assigned region/area.
      • Annual refresher training
      • New employee onboarding
  • GMP’s/HACCP/Food Safety/Sanitation/Pest Control
    • Support implementation activities within the manufacturing site
    • Review site compliance with food safety program requirements
    • Track training and records of activities for the site
    • Conduct periodic inspections & audits of records supporting food safety.
    • Communicate resource needs to corporate and site leadership teams for action
• Food Safety incident management
  • Assist with data collection and investigation of food safety incidents CAPA
    • Internal and External incidents
  • Assist with Recovery and/or Containment of any material related to a food safety incident
• Order standard inventory items such as ink, glue, and strapping
• Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or 3 years in a manufacturing environment (Corrugated packaging preferred)
• Customer Focused (External & Internal)
• Functional knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications
  • Familiarity with charting skills
• Ability to communicate effectively either written or verbal.
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines in a team environment.
