Job Purpose

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audio-Visual Video Teleconferencing Service Maintenance Support expert to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical services for the maintenance and support of audio video (AV) and video teleconferencing (VTC) systems at HQ COMNAVSURFLANT (HQ CNSL). This position requires a commitment to delivering reliable, state-of-the-art AV and VTC solutions to ensure seamless operation and optimal performance in support of the mission at HQ CNSL.

Duties and Responsibilities

The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Technical Support:
  • Provide 24/7 telephonic technical support for AV and VTC systems.
  • Ensure on-site corrective maintenance within 24 hours if remote troubleshooting is insufficient.

• Maintenance:
  • Perform semi-annual preventative maintenance checks on all installed AV and VTC systems.
  • Conduct surface cleaning and internal dust removal of equipment and enclosures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment to determine if warranty work or a repair is required.

• System Integration and Configuration:
  • Integrate, configure, and troubleshoot conference room AV systems and equipment.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco Video Teleconferencing equipment and Crestron AV control systems.
  • Program audio Digital Signal Processors (DSP) and Crestron control systems and touch panel GUIs.

• Software Updates and Modifications:
  • Assist with the download and installation of software upgrades and patches for Cisco VTC codecs and related equipment.
  • Customize and load software control codes into processors as required.
  • Engineer and implement modifications to existing systems based on HQ CNSL requirements.

• Documentation and Training:
  • Prepare and submit detailed 'As-Built' drawings and system change documentation.
  • Provide operational instruction and training to HQ CNSL personnel on the proper use and maintenance of VTC components and equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience:

• Associate degree in a relevant field such as Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or similar preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in AV and VTC integration.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

• Proficient in the proper termination of various cable types, including Fiber Optic.
• Ability to read and understand system schematics and prepare system design and as-built drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with network devices and AV systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide training for system users.
• Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances for access to unclassified and secret network accounts.
• Familiar with Cisco GEMSS Program.
• Extron AV Associate.
• Able to Engineer and specify new AV VTC Systems as required by HQ CNSL

Technical Expertise and Certifications:

• The contractor must have expertise and certifications in maintaining and programming Cisco-Tandberg VTC equipment, Crestron AV control equipment, and other specified systems.
• Required certifications include Extron AV Associate, Crestron certified programmer, CTS, CTS-I, Crestron DMC-D4K, BIAMP TesiraForte, A Certified, Security Certified, and familiarity with the Cisco GEMSS Program.
