Job OverviewA Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in production. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, quality, and maintenance, to ensure seamless manufacturing operations and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
Process Design and Development:
Design and develop efficient manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
Create detailed process documentation, including process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Select appropriate equipment , tools, and materials to optimize manufacturing operations.
Process Improvement:
Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
Implement process improvements using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workflow and reduce cycle times.
Quality Assurance:
Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
Collaborate with quality engineers to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production defects.
Conduct regular process audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Production Support:
Provide technical support to production teams to resolve process-related issues.
Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process problems to minimize downtime.
Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
Project Management:
Lead projects related to the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor project progress.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Develop and implement safety procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Participate in safety audits and address any identified safety concerns.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, equipment specifications, and quality control measures.
Prepare reports on process performance, improvement initiatives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Document and communicate best practices and lessons learned to the engineering team.
Job Requirements Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering , Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in process design and optimization tools (e.g., CAD, CAM, FMEA).
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Experience with manufacturing technologies and equipment, such as CNC machining, automation, and robotics.
Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and statistical process control (SPC).
Working Conditions
Primarily based in a manufacturing facility.
May require occasional travel to other sites, suppliers, or customers.
Exposure to industrial environments, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when working in production areas.
