Presbyterian Church of Palm Harbor is Hiring a Preschool Director Near Palm Harbor, FL

The Director has the day-to-day responsibility for implementing the approved programs of the Growing Tree Preschool , a ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Palm Harbor (PCPH). The Director will provide leadership and daily support to the staff, children, and parents/legal guardians involved in Growing Tree Preschool’s Before/After School Care and Summer Programs. The Director will use a creative Christian approach to accomplish their goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire and maintain an effective and qualified staff
  • Plan and carry out annual registration and enrollment for the preschool.
  • Complete and submit all required contract renewals and fees set forth by the Pinellas County License Board (PCLB), The Early Learning Coalition (ELC) and the Florida Association for Child Care Management (FACCM).
  • Keep required paperwork, training records, files and physical space in compliance with the Pinellas County License Board (PCLB), The Early Learning Coalition (ELC) and the Florida Association for Child Care Management (FACCM).
  • Coordinate financial matters related to the Program such as: Tuition and fees collection, Purchasing of supplies and equipment, Submission of bills for payment
  • Plan the school year calendar in regard to curriculum (including Chapel lessons), events, assessments and coordinate these events with the PCPH calendar.
  • Coordinate, oversee, and review with staff the curriculum and instructional methods.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and coordinate, oversee, and provide the annual required training for staff members.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews of the staff.
  • Review, sign, and submit staff time sheets to the church bookkeeper as required.
  • Arrange an annual Fire Inspection and conduct the required fire, tornado, and emergency lock-down drills throughout the school year.
  • Make necessary changes/updates to the Parents’ Handbook and provide notifications/updates to parents/legal guardians as necessary.
  • Submit all changes in staff, established policies/procedures to the Personnel Committee for approval.
  • Attend the PCPH staff and session meetings.
  • Write articles for the various church publications, keeping the PCPH congregation aware of the Growing Tree programs.
  • Arrange fund-raising events, community outreach events, and special programs in coordination with PCPH calendar of events.
  • Coordinate the ordering of supplies, purchasing of all equipment, books etc. as needed and requested by teachers (within budget guidelines).
  • Assist and collaborate with PCPH leadership in the preparation of the annual budget.

Requirements:

  • A current Director’s Credential with VPK endorsement issued by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCF)
  • 5 years of experience working in early childhood setting or related degree in Early Childhood
  • Must be able to pass a Level 2 background check
  • Experience in management
  • Ability to work the required hours of operation: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm as well as availability for evening and weekends for special events. (12 month position)
  • Must have a warm and friendly personality and the ability to relate well to children, staff, and parents/legal guardians.

The Growing Tree Preschool follows the same calendar as Pinellas County Schools. The Director is paid during holiday closures, including Thanksgiving break (1 week), Winter break (2 weeks), Spring break (1 week) and most federal holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
