Summary of Job:The Distribution Superintendent (DS) is responsible for managing a fast-pace, high performing warehouse. During the time of onboarding, the DS will be directly involved in PIPs shift from a paper-based manual solution to handhelds & barcoding automation. The DS will oversee a team of 22 warehouse associates, inventory for 1,700 items and monitor daily inbound & outbound freight & parcel sized shipments. This individual is a self-starter, can think on their feet and knows how to juggle competing priorities. The DS is not afraid to roll up their sleeves, thrives under pressure & always interested in improving operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train and motivate staff. Strong ability to delegate responsibilities
- Enforce safety measures and maintain appropriate working conditions.
- Manage different personalities and help rebuild the organization chart to align with warehouse day-to-day functions (shipping, receiving & inventory)
- Deep understanding of core items and inventory levels
- Manage the life cycle of a shipment with speed, efficiency and accuracy & provide quick resolution for customer complaints
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 3 years supervisory experience in a warehouse / distribution center
- Must be bi-lingual Spanish / English
- Specialized Knowledge. Experience with WMS (Warehouse management systems) Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, World Ship, Fed Ex and Outlook)
- Understanding of Bills of lading
- Working Conditions: Distribution Center. Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, kneel and stoop
- Other Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess math/analytical ability and attention to detail. Well organized, flexible and able to multi-task. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
