Job Description
Our client, a prominent automotive manufacturer, is seeking Production Supervisors to join their team in Toledo, OH!
This contract opportunity, with the potential for extension or direct hire for suitable candidates, offers a competitive starting pay rate of $30.44/hour along with benefits. The position requires 100% onsite presence, and candidates available to work ANY shift will be considered.
The Production Supervisor will oversee small work teams in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include ensuring team safety, building teams, training/managing manpower, implementing continuous improvement solutions to enhance product quality, achieving throughput and cost targets, and fostering team morale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating activities to achieve business metrics and implement the client's Production Way (SPW) processes and initiatives
- Ensuring production plan adherence, analyzing issues, driving continuous improvement activities, and maintaining solution sustainability within the zone
- Promoting workplace safety and enforcing the use of mandated safety tools and procedures
- Proactively analyzing quality KPIs, prioritizing quality issues, and guiding Team Leaders appropriately
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year in a similar role in a manufacturing facility
- Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
- Capacity to build productive business relationships with plant leadership and customers
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- 2 or more years' experience in supervision in a high-volume environment
- Previous experience working in a union environment
- Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
- Familiarity with Google Suite software programs
