Job Title: Clinical Operations Manager – Student Health

Pay: $100–130k

Location: Atlanta, GA

Overview: The Clinical Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the clinical operations within a university's healthcare facility or department. This position requires a blend of managerial skills, clinical expertise, and administrative acumen to ensure the efficient functioning of clinical services while upholding high standards of patient care and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for clinical operations aligned with the university's mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate clinical staff including physicians, nurses, technicians, and administrative personnel.
  • Workflow Optimization: Streamline clinical workflows and processes to enhance efficiency, reduce wait times, and improve patient satisfaction.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage the allocation of resources including personnel, equipment, and supplies to ensure optimal utilization and cost–effectiveness.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality assurance protocols to maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the clinical department budget, monitoring expenditures, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication among clinical staff, faculty, researchers, and other stakeholders to promote interdisciplinary care and research initiatives.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and institutional policies governing clinical operations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to patient safety, legal liabilities, and operational issues.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and implement performance metrics to evaluate clinical operations, track key performance indicators, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Patient Experience: Implement strategies to enhance the patient experience, including patient education, communication, and satisfaction surveys.
  • Research Support: Provide support for clinical research initiatives, including protocol development, participant recruitment, and coordination with research teams.
  • Continuing Education: Facilitate continuing education and professional development opportunities for clinical staff to ensure ongoing competency and compliance with best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical operations management, preferably in an academic or healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data–driven decisions.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare information systems.
  • Certification in healthcare management or related field is a plus.
