Overview Of The PositionAs the mission of Prestonwood Christian Academy is to assist Christian parents, it is essential that the work of strengthening, equipping, and encouraging vibrant and maturing family relations is undertaken with zeal and biblical direction. The role of the Parent Engagement & Ministry (PEM) team and individuals is to walk alongside parents at PCA providing biblical resources to equip and encourage parents to raise their children in a Christ-honoring manner as well as to engage with the school, church, and community with the same directive. Since Scripture teaches that parents are primarily responsible for the spiritual formation of their children, PCA does not seek to usurp that biblical authority, but rather to foster and furnish the parent relationship by addressing the various aspects of parenting that are both biblically based and culturally relevant. PEM will seek to strengthen the spiritual health of each and every parent in any parenting situation (married, divorced, single, remarried) and will look to point every individual parent to their God-established role and responsibility to foster spiritual growth and maturity in the lives of their children.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Exhibit continuous and consistent practices in the areas of spiritual development, leadership, and service in a Bible-teaching, Christ-exalting community of believers.
  • Personally demonstrate an established alignment with 1 Timothy 3:4-5 and Titus 1:6, a well-managed household and godly parenting.
  • Train parents and faculty in areas of response to the culture, family, and issues of conflict with a biblical perspective through outlets including, but not limited to, discussion panels, written articles, podcasts, chapels, speaking engagements, small group discussions, staff training events, and one-on-one guidance sessions.
  • Identify, generate, coordinate, and facilitate all aspects of campus specific parent trainings.
  • Partner with the campus Spiritual Development team and Head of School in the planning and execution of the Pride of Brothers and Society of Sisters programing (middle school spiritual training and parent engagement initiative). This role is responsible for all logistical and administrative tasks associated with this initiative in addition to content development.
  • Act as the Staff Liaison for all campus Special Interest Groups including Parent Teacher Fellowship, developing and supporting these volunteer groups.
  • Being readily able to provide recommendations to parents on Christian parenting and spiritual formation resources (both new and established resources).
  • Have clear understanding of the value of God’s design for marriage, gender, and sexuality and effectively be able to share with students and families.
  • Maintain communication channel with parents and staff as it relates to the scope of this role.
  • Active member of the North Campus Leadership Team and will participate in regular scheduled meetings.
  • Ensure all messaging, content, and curriculum prepared is in alignment with PCA’s doctrinal beliefs.
  • Forecasts and maintains department budget.
  • Responsible for all administrative tasks associated with the scope of this role.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsQualifications:
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual, and relational communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in area of focus
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in public speaking.
  • Ability to generate and maintain relationships with different generations.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Team player who can complete tasks with little oversight.
  • Reflect Christ in your words and actions in your personal life and ministry. You will be looked upon as a model of the Christian faith, and the way you live your life should reflect the Gospel.
  • In agreement with the PCA mission statement, core values, doctrinal statement, Prestonwood Baptist Church Beliefs, and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
  • Repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and fingers due to typing and 10 key punch calculator
  • Close visual acuity required for viewing a computer monitor, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and reading
  • Up to several hours of walking and standing during events.
