Job Summary: The Receptionist is the first and last contact that a client will have with the hospital and a key to creating first and lasting impressions. The Receptionist must have exceptional client service and communication skills, computer literacy, ability to handle payment and financial issues, ability to multi-task, a friendly attitude and confidence to deal with stressful situations. The Receptionist will support veterinarians and veterinary assistants in daily patient and client care.

Responsibilities:

• Answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system; answering client inquiries about routine procedures, questions about veterinary services and products, and provide knowledgeable advice about prevention and diseases.
• Check-in cats and dogs for surgery appointments and vaccine appointments.
• Schedule vaccine appointments and surgeries according to hospital scheduling guidelines and make surgery confirmation calls.
• Enter accurate charges stating all services and products provided.
• Collect pre-payment for services, including making change for cash payments and processing credit cards.
• Advise clients on flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventatives.
• Experience with Avimark veterinary software is preferred but not required.
• Must be available to work some Saturdays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.50 - $16.00 per hour
