I have a contract opportunity in Holmdel, NJ looking for a Network Monitoring Engineer to join the team.

This role is hybrid, 2 days onsite, 3 days remote.

$90-$100/hr

Responsibilities:

• Collect, analyze, and visualize data from IT infrastructure monitoring tools and logs.
• Design and implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and troubleshoot potential issues across the IT infrastructure.
• Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages and automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
• Manage and maintain cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of the infrastructure.
• Document technical processes and procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and best practices in monitoring, automation, and relevant technologies.
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies to proactively identify and prevent potential issues.
• Develop dashboards and reports to provide insights into infrastructure health and performance.
• Use data analysis to optimize infrastructure resource utilization and cost efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in IT infrastructure operations with a focus on monitoring.
• Strong understanding of monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
• Working knowledge of API integration concepts and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
